MICHAEL CULTURE IS THE SUPPORT FOR AGGREGATION AND EXPERT HUB FOR MUSEUMS COMMUNITIES IN DSI
Thanks to its strong network and experience both in aggregation and museums communities issues and its involvement in several projects linked to Europeana , MCA is in charge of the expert hub for museums communities in DSI projects.
WHO ARE WE ?
Michael Culture AISBL (MCA) is the European transsectorial network for promotion & valorization of digital cultural content.
MCA gathers members and experts from over 100 cultural institutions private and public - museums , libraries, archives, research centres - ministries of culture from Europe, from 22 countries from EU and beyond. It is a not-for-profit organization created in 2007.
It aims at Promoting and valorising European cultural heritage by its digitization and dissemination to a European and worldwide audience and valorizing the role of digital cultural heritage for innovative, inclusive and sustainable societies.
Its activities are:
- Support and development of the transmission and exchange of information, particularly via publications, conferences and events;
- Research and training on related subjects;
- Networking and participation in European and international projects.
- Developing the use of DCH in Culture and Heritage, Social challenges, Education, Tourism areas.
Michael Culture Aisbl is a member of European networks, including Culture Action Europe and has signed a partnership agreement with « NEMO – Network of European Museum Organizations ».
MCA is a major operator at European level and has been involved in many European projects: Minerva, Minerva+, Michael, Athena, AthenaPlus, DCH-RP, Indicate, DC Net, Net Heritage, Linked Heritage…..(PCRD, Culture, H2020,…)
